Every year, Lappa Valley chooses a local Cornish charity as our Charity of the Year, and this year we're really happy to support Ellie's Haven.
This charity provide holidays to families caring for children with long term and life limiting medical conditions and disabilities. Many of you will know that helping families of children with additional needs is very close to our heart – we want to make sure that everyone is able to enjoy a day out as a family, making special memories together.
Ellie’s Haven allows families to spend quality time together away on holiday in a specially adapted property – equipped with hoists, an assisted bath, sensory studio and other special facilities – in the Looe Valley in Cornwall.
We will be working with Ellie’s Haven in lots of different ways throughout the year to support their work. Here’s some of the main ways you can help us to support the charity:
- There will be Ellie’s Haven Donation Collection Pots at all till points around site. Please donate any spare change you have in these pots!
- The charity will be holding a fundraising and awareness day in September. We will post more details about this event once we have them. Lappa Valley will donate 50% of all daily admission fees to the charity from that day.
- All the money thrown into our fountain – often called the wishing well by visiting children – at our entrance will be donated to Ellie’s Haven
- All families staying at the Ellie’s Haven holiday home will receive complimentary tickets to Lappa Valley.
