Lappa Valley Birthday Parties – Terms and Conditions

By booking a Birthday Party at Lappa Valley, you agree to abide by the following Terms & Conditions 

  1. Please note, party booking deposits are non-refundable. This includes having to transfer the dates, timings, or cancellation. In the event of having to transfer your party to an alternative date of time, a new deposit will be levied. 
  2. A birthday party deposit of £60.00 is required at the time of booking. This can be paid by cash, credit / debit card or BACs. By paying this you are accepting these Terms and Conditions. If the deposit is not paid, the booking is not made.
  3. Birthday parties are for a minimum of 10 paying guests. If your party is under 10 guests, this may still take place, however the minimum amount payable will be the equivalent of 10 paying guests.
  4. The balance of the party booking must be settled five days prior to the party date. Failure to do so will likely result in the booking being released to other customers and you will be deemed to have cancelled your party, losing your non-refundable deposit.
  5. Cancellations. Lappa Valley will endeavour to accommodate any alteration of date, subject to availability and payment of a new deposit (£60.00, see section 1). However, should you cancel your party, you will lose your non-refundable deposit. If you have paid the balance of your party and cancellation is within five days of your party date, you will lose both your deposit and balance.
  6. No refunds or discounts are available in the event of pre booked and paid for guests not attending on the day of the party regardless of circumstances.
  7. Any amendments to a birthday party booking must be notified at least five days prior to the birthday party date. We cannot guarantee amendments within the five days leading up to the party date.
  8. Should you need to move your party booking then there is currently no administration fee, but a second deposit is levied (see section 1).
  9. Menu selections and guest lists must be sorted and sent to Lappa Valley five days prior to your party date. Failure to do so will result in a menu being selected by our Food & Beverage team for your party.
  10. Selected party food is subject to availability and may be substituted without prior notice.
  11. The party organiser should inform Lappa Valley of any relevant allergies as soon as reasonably possible, at the time of booking, and no later than five days prior to the birthday party date with the other menu and guest information. Whilst every care and precaution are taken in our food preparation, we cannot guarantee our kitchens are ‘free-from’ environments. Should any allergen information be required, please contact the office.
  12. It is the responsibility of the party organiser to provide any additional decorations not already provided by Lappa Valley, party bags and cake(s). Any decorations, party bags and cake(s) brought to the premises prior to the party and held at Lappa Valley will remain the property of the party organiser. Whilst full care will be taken to ensure that your property will remain safe and secure, Lappa Valley does not accept responsibility for any loss or damage caused.
  13. Please note that children remain the responsibility of the adults in the party and supervision is always required.
  14. It is the responsibility of the party organiser to ensure that any additional decorations (balloons, bunting, banners etc) is removed at the end of the party. Failure to do so may incur an additional cleaning charge.
  15. Your am/pm booking slot are the times in which you have access to the party room, access outside of these times cannot be guaranteed. Access to the party room and venue is by train via the public entrance only during public opening times.
  16. Lappa Valley Members are not eligible to use their membership pass against the value of a birthday party. Should guests of a party already be members, they are still required to pay the full party guest price.
  17. Discount vouchers / Discount Return Cards / Complimentary tickets are not valid for use of payment towards birthday parties or entry for birthday party guests.
  18. Prices of entry to Lappa Valley and prices of birthday parties are subject to change at any time without prior notice. Bookings that have been made and secured with a deposit will be honoured at the agreed price.
  19. Seasonal variations to general admission prices for Lappa Valley do not have any bearing on the price of a Birthday Party. These are standardised throughout the year.
  20. All pre ordered food to be served and consumed in the party room at the set times outlined according to your booking.
  21. Should the option of a birthday cake be purchased via Lappa Valley, and the need to cancel or rearrange your party arises within 5 days prior to the party date, the cost of the cake will be lost. However, you may still collect your cake from the ticket office, subject to prior arrangement.
  22. We prohibit the use of sparklers/flaming cake fountains in our party room.

Terms and Conditions for Online Purchases

1. General
1.1. These terms and conditions apply to all online ticket purchases for Lappa Valley Railway Company Limited, trading as Lappa Valley.
1.2. By purchasing tickets online, you agree to abide by these terms and conditions.
1.3. Lappa Valley reserves the right to amend these terms without prior notice.
1.4. Lappa Valley is a registered company in England and Wales (Company No. 01139390) with its registered office at Lappa Valley, Benny Halt, St Newlyn East, Cornwall, TR8 5LX.

2. Ticket Purchase and Payment
2.1. All ticket sales are final, and full payment is required at the time of booking.
2.2. Tickets must be purchased through our official website (https://www.lappavalley.co.uk or https://booking.lappavalley.co.uk)
2.3. Payment must be made using the accepted payment methods listed on our website.
2.4. A confirmation email with your ticket details will be sent upon successful payment.
2.5. Some special events may incur a transaction fee, which is applied automatically to any booking made online, in person, or over the phone. This is per booking, not per ticket. The amount of this booking fee can be found online.

3. Ticket Use and Entry
3.1. Tickets are valid only for the date and time specified at the time of purchase.
3.2. Visitors must present a valid ticket (printed or digital) upon entry.
3.3. Tickets are non-transferable and cannot be resold.
3.4. Season tickets, discount return cards, or any other discount vouchers/complimentary tickets may not be valid for certain events. Please check specific event pages for confirmation.
3.5. Once places are booked, additional tickets for your group may be requested, subject to availability. A £5.00 administration fee applies to any changes.
3.6. Lappa Valley reserves the right to refuse entry to anyone without a valid ticket.

4. Cancellations, Refunds, and Rescheduling
4.1. Tickets are non-refundable unless otherwise stated.
4.2. Requests for rescheduling must be made before 4pm on the day prior to your booking. A £5.00 administration fee may apply.
4.3. In the event of attraction closure due to unforeseen circumstances, tickets may be rescheduled or refunded at our discretion (minus any appopriate transaction and administration fees).
4.4. If an advertised train service is cancelled due to unforeseen circumstances, tickets may be transferred to an alternative train (subject to availability).

4.5. If an entire event is cancelled due to circumstances beyond our control (e.g., government-enforced cancellations), a full ticket refund will be provided (minus transaction and administration fees).
4.6. Lappa Valley is not liable for any consequential losses, including but not limited to travel, accommodation, or transport costs.
4.7. No refunds will be provided for missed trains that still operate, including due to severe weather, illness, or transport failure.

5. Attraction Operations and Liability
5.1. Lappa Valley endeavours to operate all advertised services. If a pre-booked service is cancelled or rescheduled, we will attempt to contact you using the details provided at the time of booking. Updates will also be posted on our website and social media pages. Please check before you travel.
5.2. Lappa Valley is not liable for additional costs incurred due to cancellations.
5.3. We cannot guarantee which locomotive will operate on any specific train. For operational reasons, a diesel may be used in place of a steam locomotive with little or no notice.
5.4. All advertised trains and attractions are subject to availability and may be changed or withdrawn with little or no notice.
5.5. Lappa Valley is not liable for any delays to trains that still operate within a reasonable pre-booked period (within 2.5 hours).
5.6. Visitors must adhere to all posted rules and regulations while at the attraction.
5.7. Lappa Valley is not responsible for lost, stolen, or damaged tickets.
5.8. Visitors enter the attraction at their own risk. Lappa Valley is not liable for any injury, loss, or damage incurred.

6. Privacy and Data Protection
6.1. Personal information collected during ticket purchases will be handled per our Privacy Policy which is available to view on our website.
6.2. Payment details are processed securely through our third-party payment provider.
