Newquay
Located on Cornwall’s Atlantic Coast, the seaside town of Newquay is only four miles from Lappa Valley. It has some of Cornwall’s finest beaches, with Fistral Beach and Lusty Glaze being amongst the most popular. Take a surfing lesson with one of the many surf schools and pick up a pasty at one of the local eateries.
Crantock Beach and Holywell Bay
If you want to combine your visit to Lappa Valley with a trip to the beach, Crantock Beach and Holywell Bay are two of the closest beaches to us, only a 10-minute drive. These dog friendly beaches have beautiful sandy stretches, glorious coastal walks, National Trust recognised surf schools and seasonal lifeguards.
Trerice National Trust
You can add a little culture to your day with a trip to nearby manor house Trerice. This Elizabethan home has charming gardens and fine interiors and is well worth a visit.
Healeys Cornish Cyder Farm
Sample some of Cornwall’s finest cyder on a trip to Healeys. Home to the famous Rattler cyder, you can take tours of the factory and look back over how cyder used to be made. With a small farm on site and tractor tours of the orchards, this is a trip the whole family can enjoy.
Some other ideas
If you’d want to combine your day of fun and adventure at Lappa Valley with seeing wildlife up close and personal, we’d recommend taking a trip to Screech Owl Sanctuary. The team there undertake vital conservation, rescue and rehabilitation work with these beautiful birds, and work hard to educate the public about them.
There’s lots of cycle hire places in Cornwall, especially in Padstow and Wadebridge – and Lappa Valley is located right next to the St Piran Trail, taking you across miles of beautiful Cornish countryside.
We’re also only five miles away from the stunning views of West Pentire. Found between Holywell Bay and Crantock Beach and carefully managed for nature and people, the West Pentire arable fields explode in a riot of red poppies and yellow corn marigolds in early summer.
There’s so much to enjoy on a day out in this beautiful part of Cornwall.
