Lappa Valley presents cheque to Penhaligon’s Friends
Lappa Valley is pleased to have presented a cheque for £1,000 to our charity of the year.
A popular tourist attraction has presented a Cornish child bereavement support charity with money raised at a special charity event.
Lappa Valley, near St Newlyn East chose Cornwall-based Penhaligon’s Friends as their official charity of the year for 2024, the third consecutive year of the partnership. The charity supports bereaved children, young people and their families in Cornwall.
Earlier this year the attraction hosted a number of families from the charity, followed by a Teddy Bear Fun Day in September with volunteers from the charity providing activities for visitors. Lappa Valley donated a large proportion of the day’s admission to the charity.
In total, £1,000 was raised from the day.
Penhaligon’s Friends CEO Julie Parker said: “It has been an absolute pleasure to work together with the wonderful team at Lappa Valley this year!
“We will be able to use our donation to provide further opportunities for the bereaved children we support to come together with others with a shared experience and get much needed support.
“The opportunity for some of our families to visit and make memories in the park was a wonderful bonus.”
