As the very first engine to run on the railway, she holds a place in the heart of generations of visitors, instantly recognisable by her distinctive “whoosh-pop” sound and cheerful whistle as she sets off from Benny Halt.

Designed by David Curwen and beautifully restored in recent years, Zebedee now steams proudly along the Main Railway once again, delighting families as she carries excited passengers through the Cornish countryside.

There’s a wonderfully nostalgic charm about Muffin, Lappa Valley’s oldest steam locomotive and a firm favourite with visitors of all ages.

Instantly recognisable with her No.2 proudly displayed on the buffer beam and her classic tender following close behind, Muffin has been part of the railway’s story for decades.

Having recently returned from essential works, she’s now running better than ever – steaming smoothly along the Main Railway and delighting passengers once again with every journey.

Whether she’s gently pulling into the station or setting off with a full train of smiling faces, Muffin brings a timeless, characterful touch to any day out at Lappa Valley.
