Come and enjoy the wonder and magic of Lappa Valley at Christmas time. Meet Father Christmas in his very special grotto, where his elves have a present for every child.

Board a nostalgic train journey through the winter countryside to East Wheal Rose – a winter wonderland with Christmas music playing throughout, a chance to write your letter to Father Christmas, enjoy a Christmas activity book and experience unlimited rides on a very festive-themed Lakeside Railway.

Families then get the chance to visit Father Christmas in his magical grotto where every child will receive a present as well as a cookie and a hot chocolate or squash.

Meanwhile, we haven’t forgotten the adults, who will also be treated to a mince pie and hot chocolate or coffee/tea.

Our outdoor play areas at East Wheal Rose will also be open, as well as our Adventure Golf and our indoor soft play area at The Engine Shed.

Make a day of it, and enjoy a delicious meal in the Engine Shed Cafe who will have some seasonal specials to offer too.

We’re pleased to share that on Saturday 6th December, the 1430 and 1530 trains will be tailored to groups with individuals with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities. Please read more below.

How much is admission?

Ticket prices are as follows:

Adults: £18.00

Inclusive of hot drink and delicious festive treat.

Child (3 – 15 years): £20.00

Inclusive of present, hot or cold drink and delicious festive treat.

Child (2 years and under): £12.00

Inclusive of present, hot or cold drink and delicious festive treat.

Child (0 – 1 years) without present: Free

Dog: £5.00

How can I book?

What will be open during the Father Christmas event?

The Engine Shed soft play will be open, the adventure golf course will be open, the outdoor play areas and musical walk will be open, as will the Lakeside Railway.

The Pedalo Swans, Frisbee Golf, Woodland Walk and Newlyn Downs Branchline will be closed.
Can I come early if I have booked on a later train?

You will be allocated a time slot to visit Father Christmas in his grotto within 1.5hrs of your booked train time. This is not able to be changed, however if you wish to arrive earlier than your booked train time to enjoy the rest of the park, you may do so.

You will also be welcome to stay at Lappa Valley and enjoy our activities for as long as you wish after your time in the grotto.
Is the timeslot I book the time I see Father Christmas?

No, The time you book is the train departure time from the car park station at Benny Halt. Please ensure you arrive at least 15-20 minutes prior to this time to allow time to park, check in and board the train.

On check in, you will be allocated a timeslot to visit Father Christmas in his grotto within 1.5hours of your train departure time.
SEND Trains - Saturday 6th December

On Saturday 6th December, the 1430 and 1530 trains will be tailored to groups with individuals with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities.

There will be a more relaxed time scale for the grottos, allowing a little bit more time for groups in with Father Christmas.

The main lights will be switched on in the grottos for a brighter experience.

Souvenir photos are optional, and if chosen, flashes on the camera will be covered.

The fairground organ will be open (to look at) but not playing.

Instead an alternative range of smooth Christmas music will be played very quietly over the PA system.

Any lighting displays will be set for static operation.

Tell us what you are comfortable with – if you prefer not to have much interaction with Father Christmas, that’s no problem at all!
Special gift provisions for children with additional needs

Every child will receive a good-quality, age-appropriate present from Father Christmas.

If your child has additional needs, we do have a range of more appropriate gifts available. Please add a note into your booking, or have a chat with the Elves when you arrive and we’d be happy to oblige.

Is my Lappa Valley Membership valid for the event?

No, Lappa Valley Memberships are not valid for this event as per our terms and conditions.
Are there any concessions?

To make things as fair for all as possible, our Father Christmas event is one flat rate charge, we do not offer any concessions on the prices above.

Should you have any additional requirements, please write these in the comments section when booking and we will endeavour to accommodate you.
Can I cancel my booking?

Once booked, we do not offer refunds of monies paid for tickets. Limited changes may be possible subject to availability and to an administration fee (£5.00).

No refunds will be provided should you miss any train that still operates, including in cases of severe weather, illness or failure of transport bringing you to Lappa Valley.
Will you be offering Roast Dinners again?

Unfortunately, we are not offering Roast Dinners at Lappa Valley during the Father Christmas events.

We will be offering a wide range of other delicious home-cooked meals in The Engine Shed however, including some seasonal specials.

We regret that we are unable to reserve tables.

Father Christmas at Lappa Valley - Booking Terms and Conditions

The prices listed above are the flat rate for this event. We offer no discounts or concessions. Annual Passes, discount vouchers, CATA passses do not cover this event.

Ensure you have the correct date, time and total number of visitors when booking, limited changes may be possible subject to availability. A £5.00 administration fee will apply to such changes.

On the day of your visit, you will need to bring your ticket confirmation either printed or shown on a device as proof of your booking.

Once places are allocated, please contact us directly if you require additional tickets for your group. Due to limited availability, we cannot always guarantee this will be possible.

Gifts are only given to paying children – when booking you will be asked for the age group of the child(ren) so that an age appropriate gift is given. If your child’s age is towards the end of a category, we advise moving up to the next age category. (i.e. if your child is 5, you may wish for them to be in the 5-8 age category) It is up to you (the person making the booking) to choose the correct age categories, and don’t forget to take into account any birthdays that may happen prior to your visit!

When booking, you are booking a train departure time. Due to the nature of this event, timings are prompt and trains cannot be held. Ensure you allow at least 20 minutes prior to your departure time to park and check in. Due to availability, it will be unlikely that we will be able to move your booking and no refunds are issued in the event of missed trains.

Cancellation & Refund Policy

Once booked, we do not offer refunds of monies paid for tickets. Limited changes may be possible subject to availability and to an administration fee (£5.00).

No refunds will be provided should you miss any train that still operates, including in cases of severe weather, illness or failure of transport bringing you to Lappa Valley.

Should any advertised train be cancelled due to unforeseen circumstances, tickets may be transferred to an alternative train (subject to availability) or a full ticket refund will be provided.

Should the event be cancelled due to circumstances beyond our control, a full refund will be provided.

Lappa Valley are not be liable for any consequential loss.
