Visiting Lappa Valley

We are really excited to welcome you to Lappa Valley. To ensure a safe and fun visit for all, please read the following information.



Please Note – The booking system will not ask for, or take payment. Payment is to be made upon arrival at Lappa Valley in the ticket office on the day of your visit.

The ticket office opens at 10.00am each day. Please arrive with no more than 20 minutes spare prior to your time slot, to allow time to park, purchase tickets and board the train. We are unable to guarantee space on any earlier train should you arrive early.

In the event of a train running early due to it becoming full, we will operate a more frequent service to get you on the move as soon as possible!

Train Times

Trains run daily from Monday 12 April – Sunday 31 October.

Departures from Benny Halt: 10.40, 11.20, 12.00, 12.40, 1.20, 2.00, 2.40, 3.20 and 4.00

Departures from East Wheal Rose (back to the car park): 11.00, 11.40, 12.20, 1.00, 1.40, 2.20, 3.00, 3.40 and 4.20

  • Are face coverings required?

    We politely request that our visitors wear a face covering in the Ticket Office, Gift Shop and Cafe serving area.

    Due to the segregation of passenger accommodation, you are not required to wear a face covering on board the trains.

  • Do we need to pre-book?

    Yes. Pre-booking an train departure time is essential. You will still need to purchase tickets upon arrival using the name that you have pre-booked with.

    When you have made your booking, you will receive a confirmation email. If you would like to amend or cancel your booking, you can do so by following the instructions in the email.


  • What social distancing measures are in place at Lappa Valley?

    We are operating a one way system in the ticket office, gift shop and cafe.

    Platforms and queuing areas have two metre lines painted on the floor.

    Hand sanitiser stations have been installed at numerous points throughout the park.

  • What attractions will remain closed?

    At present, all of our attractions are open as advertised.

  • Will staff be wearing PPE?

    Our staff have been provided with PPE to use where appropriate.

  • Can we ride the trains up and down?

    You will be allowed to travel on the train from Benny Halt to East Wheal Rose and return. Once you have arrived back at Benny Halt, you must leave the train the rejoin the queue if you wish to travel again.

  • How is the Woodland Railway working?

    Please join the queue and you will be granted entry onto the platform and train by the train driver. To maintain social distancing, the Woodland Railway will be operating at a reduced capacity. Hand sanitiser is available for use in the queue line prior to entry on the platform.

  • Will the boating lake be open?

    The swan pedalos are in operation. You will need to join the queue and staff will allow you entry onto the jetty and assist you with boarding. Hand sanitiser is available in the queue line to use prior to you boarding.

  • Do we still need to book if we are staying in the Station Flat?

    No, you do not need to pre book if you are staying with us, please speak to us when you arrive so we can advise you on the best times to catch the quieter trains.
