Visiting Lappa Valley

We are really excited to welcome you to Lappa Valley. To ensure a safe and fun visit for all, please read the following information.


Advanced booking is now essential. You must book an arrival time to the ticket office. This can be done online. We have now released booking slots until the end of our season.

Please note; The free booking system gives you an arrival time and not a train departure time. To maintain social distancing, please do not arrive before your booked time slot.

  • Are face coverings required?

    Face coverings are required to be worn in our Ticket Office, Gift Shop & Cafe serving area.

    Due to the segregation of passenger accommodation, you are not required to wear a face covering on board the trains.

  • Do we need to pre-book?

    Yes. Pre-booking an arrival time to Lappa Valley is essential. You will still need to purchase tickets upon arrival using the name that you have pre-booked with.

    When you have made your booking, you will receive a confirmation email. If you would like to amend your booking, you can do so by following the instructions in the email.

  • What social distancing measures are in place at Lappa Valley?

    We are operating a one way system in the Ticket Office, gift shop, cafe and ice cream outlet.

    Platforms and queuing areas have two metre lines painted on the floor.

    Hand sanitiser stations have been installed at various points throughout the park.

  • What attractions will remain closed?

    Due to social distancing challenges and government regulations some attractions have to remain closed. These are:

    • The trampolines
    • The indoor play carriages
  • Will staff be wearing PPE?

    Our staff have been provided with PPE to use where appropriate.

  • Can we ride the trains up and down?

    You will be allowed to travel on the train from Benny Halt to East Wheal Rose and return. Once you have arrived back at Benny Halt, you must leave the train the rejoin the queue if you wish to travel again.

  • How is the Woodland Railway working?

    Please join the queue and you will be granted entry onto the platform and train by the train driver. To maintain social distancing, the Woodland Railway will be operating at a reduced capacity and will only make one circuit of the track.

  • Will the boating lake be open?

    The swan pedalos are in operation. You will need to join the queue and staff will allow you entry onto the jetty and assist you with boarding. The pedalos will be sanitised after each use.

  • Do we still need to book if we are staying in the Station Flat?

    No, you do not need to pre book if you are staying with us, please speak to us when you arrive so we can advise you on the best times to catch the quieter trains.
