What does the admission price include?
All advertised attractions, including the return steam train journey, canoeing lake*, crazy golf*, pedal cars, play areas, indoor play carriages and our other two miniature railways. The coin-operated cars are charged at an optional, additional £1.00.
*Weather dependant during Winter Weekends.
When are you open?
We are open for pre-booked Santa Trains. We will reopen for Winter Weekends from Saturday 3 February. We fully reopen 24 March 2018.
How often and when do the trains run?
During Winter Weekends the steam train runs every 40 minutes starting at 11.10am. The journey time is 10 minutes. The two miniature railways run on separate complimentary timetables which are more frequent in busy periods.
Can I bring my dog(s) with me?
Yes, well behaved dogs on leads are welcome. We charge £1.00 per dog and they are permitted on the Steam Railway, canoe boats and Newlyn Downs Branch Line.
Do you apply any age restrictions?
The only age restrictions apply to the use of our pedal cars (under 5’s only) and the electric cars (ages 5 to 12 only).
Can I ride on all the trains as often as I would like?
Yes, we just ask that you are considerate to over visitors.
I see you have a leisure park reached by the steam train, can I reach the park by any other means?
No – a key part of the visit is the experience of the return steam train journey in and out of the leisure park.
Are the mine buildings accessible?
Both the mine engine house and the chimney have no internal access.
Can I bring a picnic?
Yes, we have many outdoor picnic areas but please note our Whistle Stop Café at the leisure park has an excellent snack and children's menu including Lappa Lunch Bags. Our kiosk provides take-away sandwiches along with hot and cold drinks.
Do you sell trains?
Yes, we now host the largest selection of 'Thomas the Tank Engine' stock in all of Cornwall, as well as a vast range of 'Hornby' items. A small selection can be viewed at our Ticket Office which is free to enter.
