By Car
Follow the brown signs from the A3075 via the Cubert crossroad for main road access.
We are also signposted from the A30 and A3058. Please note this takes you via narrow Cornish lanes.

By Coach

The only access wide enough for coaches is via the A3075; follow the brown signs from the Cubert crossroads.

By Bicycle

We are located just a few minutes off the St Piran Way (National Cycle Route).

FREE parking

Please allow at least 15 minutes before your preferred departure time to park, purchase tickets and board the train into the leisure park.

Disabled access

We have two wheelchairs available to borrow. If you are bringing your own wheelchair please note that the maximum size we can fit into the steam train carriage is:-

130 cm high x 120 cm long (front to back) x 70 cm wide

The steam train has specially adapted (ramped) compartments suitable for wheelchairs and staff will assist with access. Around half of the leisure park is accessible by wheelchairs with hard paved paths connecting the leisure park steam platform with the café and main toilet block. Disabled facilities are provided at the ticket office and main toilet block. Please note that the two miniature trains are too small to accommodate wheelchairs.

The Whistle Stop Café offers a range of excellent light bites, lunches, snacks and drinks.

The Carriage open daily, offering cakes, cream teas and hot and cold drinks.

Our Ice Cream Express open daily provides a great selection of ice creams and cold drinks.

We are delighted to host birthday parties at Lappa Valley with exclusive use of our party carriage.

A standard party package for just £12.50 per child includes:

A minimum £30 deposit is required at the time of booking.

FAQs

What does the admission price include?
All advertised attractions, including the return steam train journey, canoeing lake*, crazy golf*, pedal cars, play areas, indoor play carriages and our other two miniature railways. The coin-operated cars are charged at an optional, additional £1.00.
*Weather dependant during Winter Weekends.

When are you open?
We are open for pre-booked Santa Trains. We will reopen for Winter Weekends from Saturday 3 February. We fully reopen 24 March 2018.

How often and when do the trains run?
During Winter Weekends the steam train runs every 40 minutes starting at 11.10am. The journey time is 10 minutes. The two miniature railways run on separate complimentary timetables which are more frequent in busy periods.

Can I bring my dog(s) with me?
Yes, well behaved dogs on leads are welcome. We charge £1.00 per dog and they are permitted on the Steam Railway, canoe boats and Newlyn Downs Branch Line.

Do you apply any age restrictions?
The only age restrictions apply to the use of our pedal cars (under 5’s only) and the electric cars (ages 5 to 12 only).

Can I ride on all the trains as often as I would like?
Yes, we just ask that you are considerate to over visitors. 

I see you have a leisure park reached by the steam train, can I reach the park by any other means?
No – a key part of the visit is the experience of the return steam train journey in and out of the leisure park.

Are the mine buildings accessible?
Both the mine engine house and the chimney have no internal access.

Can I bring a picnic?
Yes, we have many outdoor picnic areas but please note our Whistle Stop Café at the leisure park has an excellent snack and children's menu including Lappa Lunch Bags. Our kiosk provides take-away sandwiches along with hot and cold drinks.

Do you sell trains?
Yes, we now host the largest selection of 'Thomas the Tank Engine' stock in all of Cornwall, as well as a vast range of 'Hornby' items. A small selection can be viewed at our Ticket Office which is free to enter.
