This year there have been record levels of Primary Times readers voting for their favourite local family friendly places and people in Primary Times’ Reader Star Awards.
Parents of children aged 4 to 11 across Cornwall were asked to complete a survey that appeared in this family friendly magazine that has a distribution of 41,000 copies to primary schools in Cornwall. Many families also cast nominations online via the Primary Times website.
The answers reveal an honest reflection of where people prefer to spend their free time, and provide a vital snapshot of what’s popular with local families.
Following on from recent award succeses, Lappa Valley Steam Railway was recognised as the Primary Times Reader Star Runner up for 'Outdoor play and activity centre', 'Family attraction' and 'Overall'.
Owner Keith Southwell said, "It means a great deal to us to be recognised by our visitors as an attraction worthy of visitor voted awards. Our visitors are the most important part of what we do and to know they are pleased with the improvements we have been making is a great feeling. We will continue with our programme of development to ensure our visitors continue to visit and hopefully vote for us again in the future."
In response to visitor demand Lappa Valley will be fully open for February half term, 11 - 19 February 2017.
